1. Introduction
Overview
In this codelab, you will learn how to upload and serve images using Cloud Storage, Firestore, and Cloud Run. You will also learn how to use Google's client libraries for authentication to make calls to Gemini.

2. Setup and Requirements
Set environment variables that will be used throughout this codelab.

Create a Cloud Storage bucket for storing the images
gsutil mb -p dogfood-gcf-saraford -l us-central1 gs://$GCS_BUCKET_NAME
Allow public access to the bucket where you can upload and display images on the website:
gsutil iam ch allUsers:objectViewer gs://$GCS_BUCKET_NAME
Create a service account by running this command:
gcloud iam service-accounts create $SERVICE_ACCOUNT \
--display-name="SA for CR $SERVICE_ACCOUNT"
And grant the SA access to Firestore and the GCS Bucket
gcloud projects add-iam-policy-binding $PROJECT_ID \
--member="serviceAccount:$SERVICE_ACCOUNT_ADDRESS" \
--role="roles/datastore.user"

3. Create the Firestore database
Run the following command to create a Firestore database
gcloud firestore databases create --location=nam5
4. Create the app
Create a directory for your code.
mkdir codelab-cr-fastapi-firestore-gcs

First, you'll create the html templates by create a templates directory.
mkdir templates
cd templates
Create a new file called index.html
with the following content:

5. Deploy to Cloud Run
Below is the command to deploy to Cloud Run. Your code is zipped and sent to Cloud Build, which uses the Dockerfile to create the image.
Because this is a source-based deploy to Cloud Run, in the Cloud Console for the service, you'll see a Source tab containing your code.

6. Test your service
Open the Service URL in your web browser and upload an image. You'll see it displayed in the list.
7. Change permissions on the public Cloud Storage bucket
As mentioned previously, this codelab uses a public GCS bucket. It is recommended that you either delete the bucket or remove the allUsers access to the bucket by running the following command:
gsutil iam ch -d allUsers:objectViewer gs://$GCS_BUCKET_NAME
You can confirm allUsers access was removed by running this command:
gsutil iam get gs://$GCS_BUCKET_NAME

9. Clean up
To delete the Cloud Run service, go to the Cloud Run Cloud Console at https://console.cloud.google.com/run and delete the service.
To delete the Cloud Storage bucket, you can run the following commands:

If you choose to delete the entire project, you can go to https://console.cloud.google.com/cloud-resource-manager, select the project you created in Step 2, and choose Delete. If you delete the project, you'll need to change projects in your Cloud SDK. You can view the list of all available projects by running gcloud projects list
